This grant program supports the critical work of state and territory domestic violence and sexual assault coalitions and is a set-aside program under the OVW STOP Violence Against Women Formula Grant Program statute. These organizations play an important role in advancing the goal of ending domestic
violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. This program also includes a statutory set-aside from the Sexual Assault Services Program (SASP) statute, specifically for state and territory sexual assault coalitions (34 U.S.C § 12511(d)).

DOJ – Tribal Sexual Assault Services Program (2020)
The Tribal Sexual Assault Services Program provides funding directly to tribes, tribal consortiums, tribal organizations, and nonprofit tribal organizations to create, maintain, and expand sexual assault services within Indian country and Alaskan native villages. Legal aid is eligible to subgrant from tribes and/or tribal organizations.
DOJ – Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation (2020)
CTAS provides federally recognized tribes and tribal consortia an opportunity to apply for funding to aid in developing a comprehensive and coordinated approach to public safety and victimization. Legal aid organizations are able to subgrant from eligible applicants, but they are not eligible to be the lead applicant on proposals.
HUD – CDBG for Indian Tribes and Alaska Native Villages (2020)
The CDBG program works to ensure decent affordable housing, to provide services to the most vulnerable in our communities, and to create jobs through the expansion and retention of businesses. There is express language for legal aid.
HHS – Older Americans Act Title VI Native American Programs (2019)
This opportunity promotes nutrition, supportive, and caregiver services to American Indians, Alaskan Natives, and Native Hawaiians. Legal aid organizations that provide legal assistance to older Native Americans are eligible to apply.
