CTAS provides federally recognized tribes and tribal consortia an opportunity to apply for funding to aid in developing a comprehensive and coordinated approach to public safety and victimization. Legal aid organizations are able to subgrant from eligible applicants, but they are not eligible to be the lead applicant on proposals.
This program is designed to support the development and implementation of outreach strategies targeted at adult or youth victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking in underserved populations and to provide victim services to those victims. Applicants are encouraged to address stalking and propose projects in rural communities.
The CDBG program works to ensure decent affordable housing, to provide services to the most vulnerable in our communities, and to create jobs through the expansion and retention of businesses. There is express language for legal aid.
HHS – Strengthen the Response to Victims of Human Trafficking in Native Communities *Forecast* (2020)
The goal is to fund organizations that will build, expand, and sustain organizational and community capacity to deliver services to Native victims of severe forms of human trafficking.
