CFPB – 2020 Your Money, Your Goals Cohort

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is looking for up to 40 organizations from across the country that are interested in using the Your Money, Your Goals toolkit, issue-focused booklets, and companion guides to help build the financial well-being of the people they serve. Members of the cohort will receive training, materials, and technical assistance, including support to develop and execute their Your Money, Your Goals implementation plans.

Goals and Objectives

The Bureau will support members of the 2012 Cohort in using the Your Money, Your Goals toolkit to help build the financial capability of those they serve. The toolkit is designed for use in organizations that rely on staff or volunteers to coach, counsel, or mentor the people they serve.

The Office of Community Affairs is interested in working with organizations that serve economically vulnerable populations to equip frontline staff and volunteers to introduce financial capability topics in their meetings with the people they serve. These organizations may include:

  • public and private social service organizations
  • faith-based organizations
  • legal aid organizations
  • volunteer organizations
  • local governments
  • financial institutions
  • organizations focused on entrepreneurship and economic development

If selected, the CFPB will provide training, hard copies of the toolkit, technical assistance, and coordination calls.

Express Language for Legal Aid:  No, however many connections being made across stakeholder groups in cities and towns. This offers a way to connect legal and aid and direct service providers in their area.  And now that toolkit is all digital – auto-fillable and auto-calculable – it can be very helpful for frontline staff filling out budgets, debt collection responses, credit report checklist, etc.

Estimated Total Program Funding: Instead of funding organizations, cohort members will receive training, materials, and technical assistance
