This is a forecasted opportunity. It is estimated to post on February 28, 2019. There is no estimated due date.
The State Opioid Response (SOR) grant program “aims to address the opioid crisis by increasing access to medication-assisted treatment using three FDA approved medications for the treatment of opioid use disorder, reducing unmet treatment need, and reducing opioid overdose related deaths through the provision of prevention, treatment and recovery activities for opioid use disorder (OUD) (including prescription opioids, heroin and illicit fentanyl and fentanyl analogs).”
Helpful resources
- Learn how civil legal aid helps those affected by the opioid crisis in a co-branded NLADA and Justice in Government Project factsheet. On the last page are four examples of partnerships that are currently serving individuals affected by the opioid crisis.
- The NLADA recently presented at a national conference on how legal aid can help individuals affected by substance use disorders. We also heard from two states on what they’re doing to address the opioid crisis. Access that presentation here.
- What is a forecasted grant? Some agencies, like HHS, make it easy to learn about “forecasted” grants, or potential funding opportunities. Grant-making agencies, pending budgetary and discretionary spending approvals and federal agency program decisions, often offer previews of their planned funding opportunities.
