DOJ – Services for Older Victims of Abuse and Financial Exploitation (2020)

This program is intended to improve outcomes, minimize additional trauma, and restore safety and security to older adult victims of abuse and financial exploitation. The purpose of this grant is to support direct service provision to older victims; provide advocacy, assistance, and safety planning; and provide resources for service providers and criminal justice stakeholders. There isn’t express language for legal aid, but the solicitation includes broad language about providing services that can include legal aid.

DOJ – America’s Addiction Crisis: Serving Our Youngest Crime Victims (2020)

This program will provide funding to support direct services to children and youth who are crime victims as a result of the nation’s addiction crisis (Purpose Area 1); and training and technical assistance for the direct services grantees (Purpose Area 2). There is express language for legal aid and several legal aid organizations have received this in FY 2018 ad 2019.

DOJ – Sexual Assault Services Culturally Specific Program (2020)

The goal of the SAS Culturally Specific Program is create, maintain, and expand sustainable sexual assault services provided by culturally specific organizations, which are uniquely situated to respond to respond to the needs of sexual assault victims within culturally specific populations. Special consideration is given to projects in rural areas. Legal aid is an eligible applicant and to subgrant.

DOJ – Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation (2020)

CTAS provides federally recognized tribes and tribal consortia an opportunity to apply for funding to aid in developing a comprehensive and coordinated approach to public safety and victimization. Legal aid organizations are able to subgrant from eligible applicants, but they are not eligible to be the lead applicant on proposals.

DOJ – Rural DV, Sexual Assault, and Stalking (2020)

This program seeks to enhance the safety of rural victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking and support projects uniquely designed to address and prevent these crimes in rural areas. This program encourages collaboration to overcome the problems of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking in rural communities. There is express language for legal aid.

DOJ – Outreach and Services to Underserved Populations (2020)

This program is designed to support the development and implementation of outreach strategies targeted at adult or youth victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking in underserved populations and to provide victim services to those victims. Applicants are encouraged to address stalking and propose projects in rural communities.
